SR5 is a DSP audio spectrum analyser and real time audio filter with noise reduction and Morse decoding for use with communications receivers.

SR5 combines these functions in a modern, easy to use 32 bit multi tasking application which you can run alongside other radio software. SR5 has been designed to provide a comfortable spectral display AND to provide real time audio filtering, without hogging the CPU and therefore allowing you to use other radio software at the same time.
When a communications receiver is in USB, LSB or CW mode, the frequencies present in audio output are directly related to the input radio frequency. Therefore a spectral display of the audio gives a spectral display of the R.F.
This makes it very easy to see the shift of RTTY signals and the location of interfering carriers for example.
By the use of the Fast Fourier Transform and its Inverse, SR5 provides the ability to draw any filter shape in real time. With this facility you can combine pass band and notch filters, however you wish, across the audio band to just above 3 kHz.

SR5 also includes a real time Linear Filter and has a built in 900Hz CW filter of 200 Hz bandwidth as an example. The coefficients for this filter can be loaded from a text file. However if you decide to do this you must be very careful with the format of this file. Loading bad data into SR5 from the linear filter file is not a good idea.
When used with the aRFive control program, SR5 can display the RF frequency rather than the audio frequency, when you are in USB, LSB and CW modes.
Note that if you wish to run more than one radio application at the same time which uses the soundcard you will of course need another sound card. These are now very inexpensive however.
